Gold & Silver Holders

A quick guide to the holder types we offer, and when each one makes sense.

Vinyl Flip

Vinyl flips contain PVC and plasticizer - a chemical added to soften the PVC. Not recommended for long-term preservation: PVC may corrode a coin's surface, causing permanent damage. Best used for temporary storage only.

Non-Plasticized Flip

Non-plasticized pocket flips contain no softeners, PVC, or other chemicals, making them safe for long-term coin storage. They're more rigid than regular vinyl flips since they contain no softeners.

Saflip

A highly recognized brand by E & T Kointainer Co. (Ohio), made of Mylar - not vinyl - and designed for long-term protection. Saflips contain no oils or additives and won't corrode, tone, or cloud your coins. Used by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), the American Numismatic Association, Harvard University, CIBC Archives, and the Singapore Board of Commissioners of Currency for preservation. We recommend Saflips as an inexpensive storage option.

Capsule

The favourite storage choice for many collectors and investors. Depending on inventory, we supply either Direct Fit Air-Tite (US) or Lighthouse (Germany) capsules - both durable, highly scratch-resistant, and fully imported. For silver bars, we provide Direct Fit Air-Tite, the only brand offering a protective capsule for 1oz bars.

Tube

Tubes are sourced directly from original mints, in sturdy plastic containers holding 20-25 silver coins. Signature tubes include the green-lid tube from the US Mint (American Eagles) and the yellow-lid tube from the Canadian Mint (Canadian Maple Leafs).

Plastic Lamination

Your silver is air-tight sealed with plastic lamination, done directly by the mint.

Protective Wrap

We wrap your silver with protective wrap, bubble wrap, or equivalent to protect your precious metals.

Monster Box

The US Mint (green) and Royal Canadian Mint (yellow) sell 500pcs of coins in monster boxes with a removable lid, built entirely of hard plastic to protect contents during shipment. US Mint boxes hold 25 tubes (one central, 12 on each side); Royal Canadian Mint boxes hold 20 tubes in a symmetrical row layout.

With Assay Certificate Holder

The Assay Certificate is issued by an independent body that tests and certifies precious metal purity, providing assaying and hallmarking services in accordance with international standard.
